Terms of Use
Last updated Oct. 12, 2026
These terms explain how Planning Europe works, what you can expect from us and what we ask of you. We wrote them in plain language so you can read them in one sitting.
1. Welcome and Who We Are
Planning Europe is operated by Planning Europe, LLC, based in Winchester, Va. When these terms say “we,” “us” or “our,” that’s who we mean. “You” means the traveler using the site.
By using Planning Europe, with or without an account, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If any part of them doesn’t sit right with you, please reach out through our Contact page before you continue.
2. Your Account
You can start an itinerary before you create an account. To save it, join Community Groups or message other travelers, you’ll need one.
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- Each account belongs to one person. Please give us accurate information and keep it current.
- Keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens under your login, so tell us quickly if something looks wrong.
- Some features, such as sending a first message request, ask you to verify a phone number. This confirms there’s a real traveler behind the account.
3. What Planning Europe Is
Planning Europe is a planning tool and a community of travelers. It includes the Itinerary Builder, Destination Guides and Community Groups.
We are not a travel agency, a tour operator or a seller of travel. We do not book, sell or guarantee flights, lodging, cruises, tours or any other travel service.
The itinerary details you enter, such as times, addresses and confirmation numbers, are yours. Please verify them with the company that provides each service.
4. Experiences and Affiliate Partners
The Experiences you see on Planning Europe come from our affiliate partners, GetYourGuide and Viator. They are independent companies. When you choose an experience, you leave Planning Europe and complete your purchase on the partner’s site. Their terms, prices, cancellation policies and privacy practices apply.
Planning Europe may earn a commission when you book with them. We do not vet, endorse or guarantee any tour operator or experience. Questions about a purchase, a change or a refund go to the partner you bought from.
5. Your Content
Your content includes your itineraries, notes, photos, posts, comments, reviews and messages. You own it.
So that the site can work, you give us permission to store, display and format your content in the ways you choose to share it. This permission is worldwide and non-exclusive, and we don’t pay for it. It lasts as long as the content is on Planning Europe. When you share an itinerary, review or photo publicly, we may also feature it on our homepage, in our emails and on our social media, with credit to you. Making it private again stops any new featuring.
- Itineraries are private by default. You can invite your travel party by link, or publish an itinerary for everyone.
- Shared itineraries and public profiles can be seen by anyone, including people without an account.
- Other travelers can copy a shared itinerary and make it their own. Those copies stay with them, even if you later edit your itinerary, make it private or delete it.
- Please share only what you have the right to share.
6. Community Groups and Group Rules
Community Groups are where travelers swap real experience. Every member agrees to our 10 Group Rules, which are part of these terms. The spirit is simple. Be kind, share your own trips and tips, respect everyone’s privacy and keep the focus on travel.
If something feels off, use Report and our team will take it from there. To keep the community kind, we may edit or remove content, pause an account or close an account that doesn’t follow these terms or the Group Rules. We use our judgment and aim to be fair. We aren’t able to review everything that’s posted, and members are responsible for what they share.
7. Reviews and Ratings
Ratings and reviews help the next traveler. Please keep yours honest, first-hand and about your own experience. Reviews are for travelers, so please leave out anything written in exchange for payment or on behalf of a business you own or work for. Reviews are the opinions of the travelers who wrote them, not of Planning Europe.
8. Travel Information and Destination Guides
Destination Guides, blog posts and travel information are for general information. We work to keep them current and show a “Last verified” date where it matters. Entry requirements, opening hours, prices and safety conditions change. Before you travel, check official sources such as the U.S. Department of State and the government of each country you plan to visit. Advice shared by other travelers is their own.
9. Costs and Splitting
The Costs tab helps you track a budget and see each traveler’s share. It is a calculator only. We never collect, hold or move money between travelers. Settling up is between you and your travel party. Please double-check the numbers and any currency conversions yourself.
10. Our Content and Brand
The Planning Europe name, logo, design, Destination Guides, quizzes and software belong to Planning Europe, LLC or our licensors. You’re welcome to use the site for your own personal trip planning. Please ask us before you republish our content, and please don’t use automated tools to collect it. If you believe something on Planning Europe uses your copyrighted work without permission, tell us through the Contact page. Let us know what the work is and where it appears, and we’ll review it and remove it where appropriate.
11. Ending Your Account
You can delete your account from your settings whenever you like. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information when you do. Copies of your shared itineraries that other travelers have already made remain with them. We may pause or close an account that doesn’t follow these terms or the Group Rules, and we may do so without notice.
12. Disclaimers and Limits of Liability
Planning Europe is provided as is and as available. We don’t guarantee that the site will always be running or that everything on it is accurate, complete or current. That includes travel information, Destination Guides, content from other travelers and anything offered by our affiliate partners. Travel involves risk, and the choices you make about where to go and what to do are yours. To the fullest extent the law allows, Planning Europe, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses connected to your use of the site or to any trip you plan with it. If someone brings a claim against us because of content you shared or because you didn’t follow these terms, you agree to cover the resulting costs.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as Planning Europe grows. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. For meaningful changes, we’ll let you know by email or with a notice on the site. Continuing to use Planning Europe after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
15. Contact Us
If anything here is unclear, write to us through our Contact page. We read every message and usually reply within a couple of days.
